Q: Can I control my Middle Atlantic UPS with a control system via the IP Card?
A: Not at this time. Control systems can be used to control the Middle Atlantic UPS via the RS232 port
Q: What is the maximum Wattage my Middle Atlantic UPS can handle?
A: For the UPS-1000R, 750 Watts is the maximum peak wattage. The recommended maximum continuous wattage is 600 Watts
For the UPS-2200R, 1650 Watts is the maximum peak wattage. The recommended maximum continuous wattage is 1320 Watts
Q: Why is there a difference between the VA and Wattage ratings?
A: VA (Volt Amps) is a simple arithmetic description; literally Volts x Amps. Power, expressed in Watts is Volts x Amps x Power Factor, which accounts for inefficiencies inherent in electrical equipment.
Q: Can I use my Middle Atlantic UPS on 208 or 240 Volt?
A: No. The UPS-1000R and UPS-2200R series are 120 Volt ONLY.
Q: How many expansion batteries can I add to my Middle Atlantic UPS?
A: Up to 10 UPS-EBPR expansion battery packs can be added to any Middle Atlantic UPS.
Q: What is the maximum run time I can get from Middle Atlantic UPS?
A: It depends on what the total load the Middle Atlantic UPS will be powering. The best way to determine which UPS and how many expansion batteries you may need is to determine your total backed up load in either Amps, VA, or Watts along with your desired run time and visit our UPS run time calculator at: http://www2.middleatlantic.com/UPS/Search.aspx.
