New technical resources provide tools allowing consultants and system designers to efficiently specify enclosure systems

LAS VEGAS, March 16, 2006 — Taking advantage of the latest Web and CAD advances to make its free RackTools® system design and specification software more accessible and useful to everyone within an organization, Middle Atlantic Products today launched the new RackTools® Version 3 upgrade. This new version provides system designers, engineers and integrators with a quick, easy way to create system layouts, create professional bid proposals and place orders. RackTools® resides locally without any requirement for Visio® or other third-party drawing software, yet is updated seamlessly with new products and features each time the computer is connected to the Web. These enhancements, including the CAD export and import functionality, are a direct result of feedback from the company’s customers and are available as a free download from RackTools.com.

In addition to RackTools, Middle Atlantic Products is proud to announce the availability of CAD Blocks for designers working in a CAD only environment. CAD Blocks are available for all welded, floor-standing enclosures and provide elevation, rear, side and plan views of all sizes of these enclosures and are available on the company’s 2006 Master Reference CD.

According to Michael Cukrow, Marketing Communications Manager, Middle Atlantic Products, RackTools® Version 3 is specifically engineered to be as functional and yet as transparent as contractors require. “Contractors need accurate information and functional, reliable tools to design, document and sell their projects,” he explained. “RackTools® and CAD Blocks, as well as our complete offering of technical resources, fulfill our responsibility to provide consultants and contractors with the technical information they need to efficiently specify our products, in any format or platform that they require.”

RackTools® 3 incorporates the exclusive feature of giving integrators the added ability to preview a project through side and rear views in addition to the elevation and plan views. A new enhancement to RackTools® Version 3 is that all views now move together - if an item is moved in one view, it moves in rear and side view as well.

Rack Tools Version 3 runs on the Microsoft .net framework, standard on computers running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, and is included in the RackTools® 3 install package. The .net framework gives RackTools® 3 significant advantages over other web-based platforms, including higher security and minimal resource usage.
