Industry pillar and Platinum Sponsor Middle Atlantic Products accentuates the essentials of racking through the spirit of competition.

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, June 19, 2007 - Taking a dynamic approach to industry education and training for the essentials of successful enclosure design and integration - mounting, cable, thermal and power management - Middle Atlantic Products is hosting the first ever AV Systems Rack Integration Challenge at InfoComm 2007. Featuring some of InfoComm's most skilled installation professionals, the AV Systems Rack Integration Challenge seeks to promote proper systems integration techniques as well as provide valuable tips and tricks that integrators can use to save time and money and improve their business.

"The AV Systems Rack Integration Challenge is a great opportunity for contractors and integrators to get a first hand look at some world-class racking technologies and techniques," said Mark Tracy, Director of Marketing, Middle Atlantic Products. "Attendees can stop by the pavilion at any time during InfoComm to get helpful tips and tricks from Middle Atlantic Products rack integration specialists."

The participating teams will consist of three team members (engineer/designer, installer and programmer) to create line drawings, integrate the system and program a fully integrated enclosure on-site at the Anaheim Convention Center. Each team will have 12 hours to complete the design, build, programming and testing of their AV rack systems.

The participating member firms will also provide personnel to demonstrate their AV rack systems and answer questions for all three days of InfoComm exhibitions. An additional, hands-on installation clinic will also run alongside the racking competition where training sessions will run throughout the day every 30 minutes. The sessions, taught by Middle Atlantic Products, AMX and Extron staff, as well as InfoComm instructors, PETC volunteers and SAVVI member volunteers, will cover various aspects of rack design, installation and testing. Special areas will also be set aside for termination and soldering instruction, practice rack elevation drawings, component installation, cable and power management, and other topics.
