Fairfield, NJ--As part of a concerted effort to bring marketing for Middle Atlantic Products to a new level of effectiveness, the company has appointed Kevin Handerson as Director of Marketing Communications.

In his new post, Handerson will be responsible for brand building, advertising and collateral sales materials, PR, trade shows and training within the context of a newly expanded and strengthened marketing team.

Kevin comes to Middle Atlantic Products with a wealth of marketing expertise and experience acquired at leading companies such as Sony Electronics' Business Solutions and Systems Company where he served as Marketing Director; Lucent Technologies, and ATT Wireless Systems. Throughout his distinguished career, he has won several awards such as "Best New Product Award," "Best Marketing Promotion" and "Best Business Unit - Silver Award" at Sony and the ATT Federal Systems "Bronze Award" while serving as Business Effectiveness Manager at AT&T.

Handerson's extensive educational background includes a Bachelors of Science in Physics from the College of William and Mary in 1982; a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in 1983 as well as a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in 1984 and an MBA in General Management from Columbia University in 1996.

Asked about his mission, Kevin stated, "Because of the balanced focus on excellent products and excellent customer support, Middle Atlantic has grown from a small specialty shop to a market leader in several markets. I'm fortunate to have that reality as a starting point!

"The exciting part is that, going forward, we are continuing to develop new related products and growing into markets that will benefit from our 'integrated system' approach.

"My near-term mission is to strengthen our marketing communications team, support functions, and effectiveness to a level that is commensurate with our leadership position. Then, we will be able to communicate clearly with our growing target markets and translate that potential into tangible sales results."

Commenting on Handerson's appointment, Mike Baker, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing, stated, "Kevin will be the key executive responsible to build and manage the Middle Atlantic Products brands.

"With his background and expertise, he is in an ideal position to build on our successes to date and bring our overall communications and marketing direction to a new level--including advertising, sales materials, tradeshows, and training initiatives."
