NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, September 15, 2003 - As part of a $60 million expansion project, Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Waukesha, Wisconsin recently centralized all access control and surveillance operations for its entire facility into a new security command center built around six Middle Atlantic Products Convective Series Ô surveillance and monitoring consoles. Featuring engineered placement and sizing of air vents, Convective Series consoles protect internal equipment by helping to maintain safe temperatures.

"In any hospital, it is critical that security equipment does not overheat and shut down," explained John Schmidt, engineer at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. "But with more and more digital technologies, the heat generated goes up exponentially. The Middle Atlantic Products Convective Series literally works like a chimney to expel hot air out the top and induct the cooler air from below."

"We were obliged to evaluate a lot of consoles before selecting the Convective Series. In the end, the Convective Series won hands down. Aside from heat management, the monitor angles were just what we needed, the consoles are well-built and they ship fully welded and pre-assembled, which means we installed them quickly and efficiently - with no missing parts," Schmidt continued.

According to Kurt Muscato of Anixter Inc., who helped manage the sale of Middle Atlantic Products consoles to Waukesha Memorial, the built-in functionality of the Convective Series set it apart from competitive offerings. "Thermal management is important," Muscato noted. "But so is the need for cable management, security features, UL listing, a choice of slopes on the upper tier and a choice of colors - the Convective Series has it all - and this makes a positive impact on installation, performance and maintenance."

The factory-welded 14-gauge steel construction of the Middle Atlantic Products Convective Series provides superior strength and quick installation with no assembly required. In addition, with multiple enhanced features included as standard, specifying and ordering Middle Atlantic's Convective Series means better value, less SKUs and easier ordering.
