MIDDLE ATLANTIC PRODUCTS PROVIDES UNITED TECHNOLOGY SERVICE WITH ENCLOSURE SOLUTIONS FOR UPS CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS A/V SYSTEM UPGRADE
ATLANTA, GEORGIA, June 9, 2004 — Citing its ability to address all thermal, cable and space management issues critical to the success of commercial A/V systems, Middle Atlantic Products’ leading-edge enclosure systems were selected by United Technology Service (UTS) for the A/V system upgrade at United Parcel Service’s (UPS) corporate headquarters. Middle Atlantic Products SRS Series Slide Out and MRK Series Vertical enclosure systems house all active A/V components for the UPS Oberkotter training and presentation room.
The A/V system upgrade includes a standard lectern and a hands-free audio system featuring ceiling mounted and wireless microphones and loudspeakers. Also included in the Oberkotter training and presentation room is a 15” video touch panel to preview information displayed on large-screen projectors and a press feed where the press can plug their recording devices into the provided UPS interface.

Middle Atlantic’s SRS Series slide out rack system houses equipment that requires easy access to both the front and back for servicing. Integral to the design of the SRS Series is its unique slide out function, offering A/V integrators easy access to rear connections of equipment, and effectively manages space restrictions, by sliding in and out of a wall.
Serving as the backbone of the A/V systems upgrade are two Middle Atlantic Products MRK Series gangable enclosure systems. Designed for applications that require advanced cable and thermal management solutions the UL-Listed MRK Series features abundant lacing points and knockouts to facilitate cable management. UTS has also implemented Middle Atlantic Products active thermal management solutions, including vented front doors, fan tops and 10” fans, to effectively manage high-volumes of heated air generated from digital equipment.
